Hi Team,
I bought brand new Samsung A55 256gb smart phone few days back. Now while using Google maps gps signal is lost and not showing the correct locations. It shows searching for gps and gives wrong readings. I have updated the maps, cleared the cache and data of maps, made settings with accurate location, reset network settings, all possible solutions that fixes the issue.. but still not working.

Please help me to confirm whether I have a bad device with bad gps network or any setting or software issues

Hello,

same problem here on same device. Can you update the conversation once you have tried?

I only found one solution.. restarting the device. This solution makes gps work for a bunch of hours and then maps starts to malfunction again.

Fun fact: Waze works fine.. Everything leads to blaming the google Maps app but I really don't know what to think.

Any suggestion about an app to analyze gps signal?

Thanks.

Tried all these solutions. Still not working. Google map still shows 'Searching for GPS' wihile navigation. Me and my family really got into trouble while using navigation during driving. Never thought Samsung phone will put us in trouble.  GPS is totally broken in this phone. None of the tips working. Kindly do something about this

The same thing on my side too. Only restart works or waiting for more than 30 minutes, which is absolute nonsense. It seems an issue with privilliges, software bug or just **bleep** software from google. Tried with and without  wifi and bluetooth precision, nothing. Gave google maps never sleeping permission, nothing again. Removed some apps from all the time permission to location services, again nothing. Last Android update was from 18th of July. Will install the latest one, but highly doubt it is the operating system. Samsungs smart things app was not with all the time permissions, now i changed them and will see what will hapen, but i did so many changes, that it is difficult to track now.

My suspission is that google wants you to reset to some default settings, where they can better track you, if you have restricted their access to your location. They could deliberately make the GPS not working, so you get pissed off and say OK at the end. Samsung needs to do their best too, if they are not in that game too!

Samsung A55 256 is not a cheap phone and google is not a software company that is 1 year old and to cause such issues with basic functionality of geolocation is unacceptable!

This is an intolerable bug . A feature any normal user using day to day basis is broken. Samsung needs to act upon fast on this.

My wife's phone has the exact same problem.

Samsung A55 256Gb.

We used the Samsung migration app to copy everything from the previous phone.

Did you others do that too or wheres yours setup as new?
