Use some cooling pad or cooling gel kept in freezer.

You can also reboot your phone in safe mode to see if the problem is with some installed app. If after rebooting in safe mode problem still persist then do restore factory setting. If again you are facing this problem then my first solution is the only cheapest and most effective solution.

what no dont do this at all it will damage the battery due to sudden temperature changes dont give any stupid ideas to people like use of cooling pad or cooling gel . that is absurd and abusive to battery and also it will destroy the internal circuit and processor of the phone .

that will reduce the heat and remove cover while charging
if device is hot then remove the cover from it and let the heat dissipate in environment note
dont keep it under or over and cooling pad or something related cooling pad let the heat dissipate naturally

Any temperature below and above 10°C room temperature will harm lithium ion battery. Over here auto shut down due to high temperature occurs if temperature is well above 50°C (upto 80°C, depend on manufacture). However Samsung in this budget series due to ridiculous cost cutting removed the heat dissipation system that occurs passively through metal structure/frame/back. So when it's gets over heated and goes shutdown, 1st priority is to cool down the phone, and this heating already damaged battery more than enough.

When you get fire in house, your first priority is to knock off the fire by any necessary means and not considering if it going to damage or make your house dirty.

If you are an expert, eliminate the root cause of over heating, than focusing on what will reduce lifetime of battery, phone's battery are always overcharged which is slow killing process.
