I've been using my phone for about 2yrs now but lately it's becoming slower by the minute, I've gotten rid of all unnecessary stuff on my phone to leave a healthy space on my Onboard hard drive and movies downloads are saved in my memory card but my phone continues to be slow why is that?🤔

That could be a factor, try cleaning it see how much you have left.

I just did and it's slightly increasing so I'll continue doing that and try getting it up to 2gb

I've noticed this over time, something that a lot of people hardly consider is that because apps get updated frequently to better the experience of newer devices and include more/modern features, they tend to be a burden on older phones. This is probably a reason that budget phones tend to slow down more often than higher midrange/flagship phones.

Also, Samsung's One UI skin can become a bit heavy over Android. It's often why most modifiers have a better experience flashing a custom AOSP (Stock Android) ROM since it's lighter on the SoC (Processor)

I always update my apps too yeah that makes sense but then I don't get why updating apps would detrimental to the phone but updating apps is to have then run efficiently 😫

Yes, apps are usually required for the best experience but with the amount of background services and new features introduced on top of existing features, it could be a factor for older phones to become slow. I have a Galaxy Note 3 in good working condition and it's pretty quick after I reset it but once I start updating apps, it gets slower since the hardware is old and slower, trying to run many new features.
