You may be wondering why people are receiving One ui 7 update before you do in your phones. I did some research to understand why it is like that. Now i have proof that it is not your phone that is the problem but the Carrier ID that is the cause.

In South Africa we are using a carrier ID of XFAXFE and XFV which as of now have not been listed to have received updates of One UI 7 as yet in most devices.

What i can advise to those who have not receieved the update is that they be patient as i am doing(I have A15 and have not received Android A15)because the people who are getting update before we do are not using phones that has Carrier ID of RSA but of different regions but with region RSA.

Please check out the screenshot for proof of what i am saying because this is a phone that received a ONE UI 7 update today before others do. So XME is Malaysia which already has received android 15.

Malaysia Carrier ID of XME with RSA(XFA) has received update early than the local ones.

South African carrier ID(XFA, XFV) has not received update yet

It is so unfair, my wife got her A55 after 3 months after me and now her A55 has updated to Ui 7 while my A55 is not able to update yet. 😠

A55 for RSA has different model numbers. I posted this a week or so ago. AY6C is the only model not to have received it. The CSC and Model Code is your combo for an update. And if anything gets picked up, the update is delayed.

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G (model SM-A556E) with the XFV CSC code—typically associated with Vodacom South Africa—has officially received the Android 15-based One UI 7 update.

📱 Update Details for XFV Variant

Build Version: A556EXXU7BYDB

Release Date: April 28, 2025

Security Patch Level: May 1, 2025

Firmware Size: Approximately 8.4 GB

How to Check and Install the Update

If the update isn't immediately available, it's advisable to check periodically, as Samsung often rolls out updates in phases.

These phones are bought from certain suppliers and are grey products and not a South African Samsung phone. Many phones on Takealot are not South African phones and Samsung will not cover these phones under there warranty in South Africa. Many people do not realise this.

Even though other A55 5G models are getting One UI 7, your AY6C/XFA combo just hasn’t hit the release window yet — but it will get it soon, likely before the end of May 2025 or early June 2025 unless a critical bug causes a further delay.

It is not a bug but those who provide the software in our region.

Please read to comprehend that there is no longer confusion as to why the AY6C/XFA models are waiting. I posted this bout a week ago when owners were worried about why they were left out. If you read the comment, it states, "IF" any critical bugs pop up, the update may be delayed, and no one knows the exact reason why they're still waiting. The same goes for A54 owners as well.

It's not just about the CSC of the region. There's a model code attached to it , and AY6C/XFA are the main models that's delayed.
