Lift to wake function on a Samsung galaxy A31 doesn't work after Sep update

Very disappointed after I did the September update the lift to wake function doesn't work and I really like to know why

Please ensure that you have enabled this feature: settings>> Motions and Gestures>> Lift to wake>> enable.
