After releasing the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy A51, Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A53, Samsung has released the latest version of One UI to two more mid-range smartphones: Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A71 5G. The One UI 5.1 update is rolling out to the Galaxy A71 in Europe and the Galaxy A71 5G in Asia.
The One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A71 comes with firmware version A715FXXU8DWB5, and it is available in Poland. Other European countries will get the update within the next few days. The Galaxy A71 5G is getting updated to One UI 5.1 with an update that bumps up its firmware version to A716BXXU7FWB6. These two smartphones will get the One UI 5.1 update in other countries within the next few days.If you are a Galaxy A71 or Galaxy A71 5G user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download and install the One UI 5.1 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can also choose to download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually using Odin.
Samsung launched both smartphones in the first half of 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A71 5G received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in late 2021. Finally, they received their last major Android OS update, Android 13, towards the end of 2022.
Galaxy A71, Galaxy A71 5G One UI 5.1 update: New features
The One UI 5.1 update brings improved search quality to the stock Gallery app. You can now search for more than one person or subject at once and view/edit EXIF files by swiping up an image or video. While the Galaxy A71 seems to have gotten improved image remastering and Shared Family Albums, the Galaxy A71 5G hasn’t received them with the One UI 5.1 update.
Both phones can now maximize or minimize apps by dragging their window corners. Split-screen multitasking has gotten easier as the phone now shows frequently used apps first in this mode. The Modes And Routines app now has more features and conditions, including font style, Quick Share, wallpaper, and touch sensitivity settings. The Weather app now displays all the important information in the first fold and has an hourly precipitation graph. It also gets a new dynamic weather widget. The battery widget displays the battery charge level of the phone and its connected devices.You can now do a common search between browsing history and bookmarks on Samsung Internet. Your recently browsed websites from Samsung Internet can be accessed on your paired Windows 10/11 PC via the Windows Phone Link service. The Settings app shows search suggestions and you can select which folder can be used to save screenshots on these two phones.
