Hi Tej21
Yes, you’re not alone: owners of the Samsung Galaxy A35 (5G) have been reporting that their Google Play system update date has reverted (or appears stuck) at 1 July even though you saw 1 September earlier.

Here’s a breakdown of what appears to be happening — and what you might try to fix/diagnose it.

---

What we know

On a Reddit thread: a user with Galaxy A35 noticed “Google Play system update: 1 July 2025” and it appears stuck.

On the official Samsung community forums: users of various Samsung models note that Google Play system updates can be delayed by months (so a “July” date doesn’t necessarily mean you’re missing an update in the sense the phone is insecure — just that it hasn’t yet received the next module).

Some posts indicate that compared to phones on older One UI versions, those on the newer One UI 8 (Android 16) are not yet getting the September module — “users share their experiences with late updates on UI8”.

---

⚠️ What might be the cause

The date shown (1 July) refers to the module version date of the Play System update (Google’s “Mainline” modules) — it doesn’t always update monthly or visibly for all devices simultaneously.

Regional/carrier rollout differences: Sometimes some countries or carriers get the newer Google Play system module later.

Version of One UI/Android: If your A35 is upgraded to One UI 8/Android 16, it may be that the module for that OS version is still catching up.

“Reversion” of the date may simply be display glitch or caching — some users noted they got the “September” module but it still shows “1 July” after install.

---

🛠 What you can try

Go to Settings → About phone → Software information (or similar) and check the “Google Play system update” date.

Tap on it (some devices allow forcing a check) or go to Settings → Software update → Download and install to check if there’s any pending module.

Make sure you have good WiFi/mobile data, and that your Google Account sync is working.

Reboot your phone (sometimes after update it will refresh the display date).

If you want, you could clear cache for Google Play Services (under Apps → Google Play Services → Storage → Clear cache) though this is less likely to change the date.

If concerned: check for the security patch date too (Settings → About phone → Android version → Android security patch level) — this gives another indicator of update recency.

🔍 My suggestion

For now, this looks like normal behaviour for many A‑series Samsung phones: the Google Play system update module date is still “July” while you expected “September”. Unless you’re seeing errors or security warnings, you are likely fine — just that the next module is either delayed or not yet pushed to your unit/carrier region.
