Your Samsung Galaxy A34 switches between JPG and HEIC formats depending on your camera settings and certain conditions. Here’s why this happens:

Possible Reasons:

1. High Efficiency Mode (HEIF/HEIC) Enabled:

If "High Efficiency Pictures" is enabled in your camera settings, your phone will save images in HEIC format to reduce file size while maintaining quality.

If it's disabled, your photos will be saved in JPG format.

2. Auto-Switch Based on Mode & Conditions:

Some camera modes, such as Night Mode or HDR, may force the use of HEIC for better compression.

Certain conditions like low-light shots or high-resolution images might default to HEIC.

3. Third-Party Apps:

If you use third-party camera apps or WhatsApp/Instagram’s built-in camera, they might save images in JPG regardless of your settings.

How to Fix It? (Stick to JPG or HEIC)

Go to Camera app → Settings → Formats and advanced options → Turn ON/OFF High Efficiency Pictures (HEIF/HEIC) based on your preference.
