When will we get the Android 12 update on the Samsung a20

A very sad, your samsung a20 will never get android 12. Reason your phone was introduced in 2019 with android 9.0 only 2 updates till android 11. You have the last update for a20. Now no more updates for u. Only security update which will be twice or ones a year. What ever Samsung will decide.
