Basically it is that as you know that Samsung has its own UI and google releases security patches every month but the UI also provides us security Samsung can decide to release those updates or not for android as they might already provided in the UI.

For your info There is a critical vulnerability in galaxy devices till 2014. It is being patched in may update.
