The trick I follow is:
Never cover the sensor completely while registering your fingerprints.
Cover only 85-95% of scanner. Lift your finger and do the same. In this way you'll be able to register your fingerprints.

look samsung is very bad in providing OS updates....samsung only provide you new phone every 3 months....but dont buy samsung products if we need OS updates....

buy iphone... honestly even after 5 years i still got the update...
