All 8 cores are using ur mobile ,First 4 cores for 1st starting function and cores used later in ur devices and for gaming may be Adreno Cortex functions for games will be used
The number of cores active depends on the workload, there is no point in using all 8 cores for a single threaded workload. In fact, your phone would rarely need to fire up all 8 cores at once. Running a benchmark with multi thread test would use all 8 cores.
