A53 battery issue

My battery just got swollen, pushing the plastic back open on the sides...I was not planning to get a new phone soon 😑 😒 since I got two more OS updates, and I want to save up for my next Smartphone....I'm not sure if I should just glue the sides or replace the battery...if I replace the battery will it still be water resistant..

You should get the battery replaced as soon as possible by someone who knows how to get the job done and maintains the phone's water resistance. The pressure inside the battery may increase as time goes by and may cause an explosion if left as is.
