Greetings to the Members of Samsung Community. I am Bhavy Tripathi from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. I am a student who is really passionate for Photography and willing to persue a career in this field. You can know more about me and my work by following me on Instagram by searching @raw_snapicoid.
I am writing about this topic because I think this is the most underrated topic and not taken commonly for any discussion which makes it difficult for an individual to understand it completely. I want to share with you what I have learned, because it has nothing to do with tips, tricks, or techniques. The techniques are necessary to be able to take a technically good photograph but they are not the reason why you take great photographs.
What is Street Photography?
Most of the People think Street Photographs are just about Portraits but great street photographs say something about life; they speak to us; they fill us with an emotion; or they give us insight.
They consist of the symbols and meanings conveyed indirectly to the audience which leaves them in amazement and brings up a specific feeling, story, or idea.
For a quick example, you shouldn’t be trying to capture a face; you should be trying to capture an expression.
- Here is a photograph captured with Samsung M20 titled Dark.
Equipments for Street Photography
You need a strong will power for doing this completely different genre and make something out of it. Only you can determine what gears you need according to your own strengths. For me street is all about wide shots and 18-55mm lens works good for me in my camera. With my Samsung M20 I use skyvik 10mm fisheye camera to get the best results of my phone. So in short it is totally your your call to choose what lens helps you to make your best shot.

Making a "Good" shot.
A good street photograph is one that comes from your soul and explains how you see the world. Light, faces, composition, and forms are all part of the recipe but they are not the reason why you click that shutter. You can only create better street photographs by having a detailed idea of your own self and the world around you. Also it is your passion which keeps you going on and clicking better shots. It's important for the photographer to practise the composition rules and keep trying new things to achieve better results. Also a Street Photographer should possess good knowledge of lights and shadows as these factors influence the images to a great extent.
- Some more shots which would help you to understand the concepts better.
So this was all from my side and I hope this blog will help you in some or the other way. Feel free to contact if you have any doubts or you feel I made any error. Email me at rawsnapicoid85@gmail.com
