It clears all the memory associated with the hardware and updates the hardware with the latest updated version. After the hard reset, the CPU or the processor restarts the application

Community GuidelinesHard reset: both are same but hard reset is recommended only when if there is any system issue and you are not able to boot into device or open settings .. If you can't boot you can't open settings. So, no option you have to go to recovery and do hard reset.

Community Guidelines... soft reset is different which performed by long press volume down + power key together for 10 seconds
