Figuring from online information that the reason my daughter's washer wouldn't drain was that drain part was blocked, I tried using a Drain Weasel. I carefully worked it in through the front drain/filter access, spun it around a few times, then slowly pulled it out and the culprits came out. Washer is fine now. How the washer manages to eat socks and bottle caps is a mystery, but is otherwise a great machine.
