1. Introduction to Virtual Reflector

The Virtual Reflector in Expert RAW Labs reduces shadows on the face depending on the direction of the light source, to give you brighter portraits. When shooting outdoors or indoors, if shadows appear on the face due to the direction of the light source, you can use a reflector to minimize these shadows and obtain bright photos. The Virtual Reflector feature helps you achieve bright portraits as if you were using a reflector.

2. How to use:

1) Launch Expert RAW 

2) Select Virtual Reflector in Labs

- The Virtual Reflector icon was designed to portray light reflected onto a person by a virtual reflector.

3) Press the shutter button to capture the photo.

- It automatically detects light intensity and direction to provide a reflective effect.

- However, if the user wishes to adjust the color, intensity, and direction of the reflector, they can do so through the following UI.

4) When manually adjusting the position of the reflector, placing it opposite the light source may help minimize shadows.

3. When to try:

1) When the outdoor sunlight is strong and the face appears dark

Outdoor environments with strong sunlight can cast shadows on the face, making it appear dark. The Virtual Reflector feature automatically measures the intensity and direction of light source and helps to create natural and bright portraits.

2) When filming pets

The Virtual Reflector feature can recognize not only people but also pets. It automatically determines the intensity and direction of light shining on the recognized pet, resulting in brighter photos of your pet.

3) When the lighting is not uniform indoors

Even in indoor environments with uneven lighting, using Virtual Reflector brightens shadowed areas, allowing you to achieve brighter and more natural images.

* Expert RAW must be downloaded separately from the Galaxy Store, for free, before use. Supported on S26, S25, S24, S23 and S22 series devices, S21 Ultra, S20 Ultra, Note20 Ultra, Z TriFold, Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Fold4, Z Fold3 and Z Fold2. Results may vary depending on editing method and/or shooting conditions including multiple subjects, being out of focus or moving subjects.
