You can easily create your own portrait with a single photo through generative AI. Portrait Studio currently offers four styles of portraits, which can be used through Photo Editor and Contacts.
Before we dive into the details, please keep the following in mind:
[Things to know before using the new function]
- Portrait Studio requires Samsung Account login and can be used only if Photo Assist is turned on. You can turn off Photo Assist in the Photo Editor at any time.
- This function processes the images being edited when generating images or contents in the images, but the processed images are not stored by Samsung.
- The image resulting from the use of this function can only be saved as a copy. A watermark is overlaid on the image output upon saving in order to indicate that the image is generated by AI.
- The result image can also be saved by resizing up to 9MP.
- There may be somewhat unsatisfactory results, and in some cases, the desired image may not be created due to law, policy, or technical reasons. We will continue to improve AI function performance and try to provide better quality.
4 Styles of Portrait Provided
Generating a Portrait
You can access Portrait Studio through the Photo Editor or Contacts profile card settings.
All you have to do is select a portrait picture, choose one of the 4 given styles that you want, and press the Generate button. If there are more than one person in the picture, you can select the person whose face you want to turn into a portrait painting.
The portrait is generated in about 15 seconds, and if you click the ‘Generate again’ button, you can get a different image result. You can save the resulting image through Photo Editor, or easily set your profile image through Contacts!
※ The higher the picture quality with the subject facing the front, face uncovered, the better the result.
※ Supported models: This function will be applied to Galaxy Z Fold6/Flip6, and in the future, will be supported on Z Fold5/Flip5, Z Fold4/Flip4, S24, S23 FE, S23, S22, Tab S8, and Tab S9.
