The Galaxy S23 Nightography shoots and processes images faster than previous models because of its improved CPU and NPU performance.
Comparing the estimated shooting time displayed on-screen for night-time photos with the previous models, it is shorter and faster, even in photo mode.
Capturing and processing zoomed-in night shots employing the ultra-wide and telephoto lens is much faster. Nightography also has a broader scope of application now.
Extreme low-light noise/brightness enhancement
Darker conditions make for grainier images and non-uniform sensor input data in general. This unprocessed noise hampers any improvement in the low-light brightness. Brightness is optimal in extremely low-light in S23 by lesser noise processing and better detail preservation.
First, the sensor data input is more uniform now. It refers to the neighboring pixels using algorithms in multi-frame processing to do so. Second, better AIISP training techniques enhance the camera’s ability to reduce noise while maintaining detail.
Increased exposure of the camera sensor and a tweak in the tone algorithm based on reduced noise and more detail lets you experience improved brightness and contrast.
