Motion Photo

Options

The usability of Motion Photo has been greatly improved in the Galaxy S24 series.

When you press the Motion Photo icon in the Quick Settings bar in Photo Mode, the Motion Photo function is activated with the text “Motion photo On” in yellow as seen in the right-side picture below.

Motion Photo is a function that provides not only static photos but also lively and dynamic photos, so the movement or situation of the moment in the picture can be better communicated through motion photos. Furthermore, Motion Photo lets you save and preserve all the fun moments in the 3 seconds before the click.

The Galaxy S24 series allows you to photograph in quick succession through shot-to-shot mode, and applies a video compression algorithm to reduce the burden on storage size.

In addition, Preview HDR was applied to minimize the difference in quality between Motion Photo videos and photos.

*Supported device: Galaxy S24 series

The new hidden feature of Motion Photo on the Galaxy S24 series allows users to select the desired moment and change it into a 12MP cover photo using AI upscale technology so that even brief moments can be captured.

* Supported devices: Galaxy S22, S23, S24 series, Z Fold5/Flip5, S23FE, Tab S9 series, Z Fold4/Flip4 are expected to be supported (as of One UI 6.1 update)

Additionally, we recommend the long exposure effect for Motion photo results using the gallery Edit Suggestion function.

* Motion Photo does not work when low-light nightography is in operation. To take a Motion Photo, turn off the low-light nightography function using the moon icon at the bottom right of the screen {yellow (on) → grey (off)}.
