Instant Slow-mo is a feature that allows you to create a smooth, slow clip of the section of the video that you want to watch in detail. Instant Slow-mo analyzes the video using various AI techniques and creates new frames that seamlessly connect two consecutive frames of the recorded video. The S25 series supports the Instant Slow-mo experience even in HDR videos up to 4k@60fps.

Principle behind Instant Slow-mo
A video is a series of sequentially shot frames played back in succession. If there were new interpolated frames that naturally connect the motions between two consecutive frames, we would be able to watch the video more smoothly and slowly.
To create these new frames, Instant Slow-mo uses an AI model to extract motion information between two input frames in real time. The obtained motion information is used to synthesize interpolated frames that reflect the motion of the two input frames and make them appear as a smooth continuous motion. Finally, the generated interpolated frames are placed sequentially between the two input frames and are played back, allowing you to enjoy a slow-motion video of the original footage.
How to use Instant Slow-mo
1) Select a saved video from the Gallery or Video player app
2-1) During playback, press and hold the screen in the section you want to see in detail, and release it to play at the original speed.
- For 30fps, when selecting 1/4x speed, slow motion is applied by adding three interpolated frames.
- For 60fps, when selecting 1/8x speed, slow motion is applied by adding three interpolated frames (1/2x playback at 30fps, 1 additional interpolation for 1/4x).
3) Save the generated slow-mo video.
