I have problems with my Galaxy S10 (running Android 11) waking up and doing unwanted things while carrying it in my shirt pocket. I've been told that this might be prevented by disabling the "Double tap to turn on/off screen" options. I use these options many times a day and don't want to permanently disable them. Question: Is it possible to write a Bixby routine that will turn these options on and off? If so, I could simply run one Bixby routine before putting the phone in my pocket and another when removing it. I currently have Bixby routines that set simpler things such as wi-fi, location, volume etc.

The steps needed to change these settings are Settings, Advanced features, Motions and gestures, Double tap to turn on (or off) screen.

There is a option settings => Display => Accidental Touch Protection

Enable the above setting. It'll prevent accidental touches when it's in pocket or bag etc.

Thank you for that tip. However, I have had Accidental Touch Protection turned on for the two years I've had the phone, and it doesn't fix this problem. Once it even dialed 911 while I was driving. Not good! I just watched a YouTube video where the presenter claims that turning the phone around with the screen pointing out usually stops the problem.

Strange. Ideally when you are having that option turned on, it should not allow any touch actions.

If you are not having screen lock on, please turn it on. So that screen lock will prevent accidental user actions as the phone is in locked state.

I'm sure you are correct, watto33, that the problem will not occur if the screen is locked when I put the phone into my pocket. I will try to remember that in the future.

I currently have the Screen timeout (Display setting) and the Auto lock when screen turns off (Secure lock settings) set to 5 minutes. Normally I double tap the screen to turn it off after I am finished with whatever I am doing, including when I put the phone into my pocket. At that point the screen is off but the phone is not locked - that is probably why it wakes up and does strange things.

There is an option under Secure lock settings called Lock instantly with Power key, which sounds like just what I want. But turning that option on also causes the phone to lock with a double tap, overriding the 5 minute time period that I've specified.

What I'd really like (and maybe it isn't possible) is a way with some key press or gesture to instantly lock the phone while keeping the phone unlocked when I double tap the screen to turn it off.
