Tutorial on Backing Up and Restoring Data Before a Factory Reset

Purpose:
Factory resets delete all data on your phone, so creating a backup ensures you don’t lose important information.

Steps to Back Up Your Data:

A. Using Samsung Cloud:

1. Go to Settings > Accounts and Backup > Samsung Cloud.

2. Tap Back Up Data.

3. Select what you want to back up (e.g., Contacts, Photos, Messages) and tap Back Up Now.

B. Using Google Account:

1. Go to Settings > Google > Backup.

2. Toggle on Back Up to Google Drive.

3. Tap Back Up Now to start the process.

C. Using Smart Switch:

1. Install Smart Switch on your computer (or use the app on another phone).

2. Connect your device via USB cable.

3. Select Backup and follow on-screen instructions to save data to your PC.

Steps to Perform a Factory Reset:

1. Go to Settings > General Management > Reset.

2. Select Factory Data Reset.

3. Review the information and tap Reset.

4. Confirm by entering your password or PIN, then tap Delete All.

Restoring Data After Reset:

Use the same tools (Samsung Cloud, Google Account, or Smart Switch) to restore data.

During setup, choose Restore from Backup and follow the prompts.

When to Use:

To resolve persistent issues like crashes, freezing, or malware infections.
