Okay let’s troubleshoot your Galaxy A25 issue after the October 25, 2025 software update.
It sounds like there are two main problems after the update:
1. Apps disappear after opening (don’t stay minimized or in Recents).
2. Hidden apps no longer appear in search.
Let’s go step-by-step to fix both 👇
---
🧩 Part 1: Apps Disappear / Don’t Stay in Recents
This usually happens after a One UI update due to memory management or launcher bugs.
🔧 Try these fixes:
1. Restart your phone (sometimes updates cause UI glitches that fix after one full reboot).
2. Clear One UI Home data:
Go to Settings → Apps → One UI Home
Tap Storage → Clear cache, then Clear data
Don’t worry — it won’t delete your apps, only resets your home screen layout.
3. Disable “Remove unused apps from memory”:
Open Settings → Battery and device care → Memory
Tap the 3 dots (⋮) → Automation
Turn off “Auto remove unused apps from memory”.
4. Check Developer Options (if enabled):
Go to Settings → Developer options
Scroll to “Don’t keep activities” and make sure it’s OFF — if it’s ON, your apps will close the moment you leave them.
---
🔍 Part 2: Hidden Apps Not Appearing in Search
This is a One UI Launcher search indexing issue that happens after updates.
Try this:
1. Rebuild app index:
Open Settings → Apps → App Search (or Device Search)
Tap Storage → Clear cache, then Clear data
Restart your phone.
2. Unhide and re-hide apps:
Long-press the Home screen → Settings (gear icon)
Tap Hide apps → Unhide all, then Hide them again.
Check if they appear in the search bar now.
3. If still not fixed:
Go to Galaxy Store → Menu → Updates
Check if “One UI Home” or “App Search” has an update — install it.
Samsung often pushes small patches for launcher bugs after major updates.
---
⚙️ Optional (if the issue persists)
Try “Repair apps” — it re-optimizes system apps after updates:
Turn off your phone completely
Press and hold Volume Up + Power
When the Samsung logo appears, release buttons
In recovery mode, use volume keys to scroll to “Repair apps”, press Power to confirm
This won’t erase data — it just refreshes app connections and fixes post-update bugs.

To note: I have searched and found the option under advanced features where you can split screen(that's not the one I want)
