Guys One UI 8 will not be published to every phone at the same time. It works in many different ways.
Look...
A Samsung update date goes to a phone based on it's region (where it is located) So the reason it is taking long to get into your phone is dependable on that - your region. So don't stress, it will come to you.🙏
Another thing is the carrier it is tied in. A lot of people do not by phones cash. Some phones are contract phones. They either bought it from MTN, Vodacom etc. So when it comes to an published update, those phones tied to those carriers will not receive the update immediately. This is because the phones are tied to that certain carrier and IT WILL WANT TO FIRST TEST IT BEFORE IT GIVES IT TO YOUR PHONE. Look at it like this.... Samsung tested the updated️ so when giving it out, the carrier that has phones tied to it will also want to test the update. It is something like that.

So what I am trying to say is that the reason you are still waiting depends on your region and because, to the people who has their phones tied to carriers, the phones have to be tested again.
But don't worry, it will come soon to you.🙏

What's the difference between a phone you bought cash & the one that was taken on credit?

Good question.🙏
First of all, know that even if it is bought on cash or credit, it will get One UI 8.
So look... if a phone is a contract one (bought from MTN, Vodacom etc) the update will get delayed. That is because the carrier will need to first test the update by itself before pushing it out.
And then, if a phone is an unlocked one bought cash, then the update usually gets to it earlier.

That is the difference.️ I hope I was able to make you understand.

I bought mine on credit but it's paid off already and I got One UI 7 first before those others

Okay. Know that even if it is paid off, it is still a carrier locked device (updates come after carrier tests)
It is not a factory locked device (gets updates directly from Samsung)

The rules still apply. The fact that you got the update (sooner or later) it means that the carrier it is tied to has finished testing it and then pushed it to you. What I was saying is that carrier locked phones do not immediately get it because of the approval that needs to be done. It doesn't matter if it is earlier or faster, just know that your carrier is testing it before giving it to you.
Do you get that?🙏

One UI 8 is not worth it (sure, you must install it, you get Android 16 One UI 8). One UI 8.5 is the one you should start worrying about, which will come next year. It is not too far away.

Oh okay, I think that it is worth it. One UI 7 had to be polished by One UI 8. So now after the polish, the phone will be at a good state for 8.5. One UI 8 is there for a reason.
But I respect your opinion. I hope One UI 8.5 will satisfy you. Hold on tight, it will come.😄🙏

I agree with you.

The unseen thought behind my comment above:

I see some people impatiently waiting for the One UI 8 update. It's not worth it in the sense of features, customisations, and UI design. With 8.5, you get 3D icons, more QS panel customisation, and more exciting stuff. In that sense, it makes sense to not complain about One UI 8 not coming to the phone quickly and instead be excited with One UI 8.5 because it brings more and it will be released with S26 series phones next year...
