Hello Samsung Support, I’m experiencing frequent screen freezing on my Galaxy A06 since updating to Android 15 with One UI 7 on 30 July 2025. My current baseband version is A065FXXS7BYJ1. The issue began shortly after the update and has worsened over time. Symptoms: - Screen becomes unresponsive randomly during normal use (e.g., browsing, switching apps) - Touchscreen freezes for several seconds, requiring me to turn the screen off and on to regain control - Soft reset temporarily resolves the issue, but it returns later Troubleshooting: - I cleared the cache partition and tested Safe Mode—no improvement - I disabled the fingerprint unlock feature, and performance improved noticeably - I’ve seen similar complaints from other users online, suggesting this may be a widespread issue Please advise if a fix is planned or if the upcoming Android 16 / One UI 8 update (firmware A065FXXU7CYJ8) will address this. Thank you for your support.

Hi Master Teah
What Could Help
Until or unless Samsung confirms the fix, here are some suggestions:
1. Update to One UI 8 / Android 16 (if available in your region)
Since the update is already rolling out for the A06 in some regions, see if it’s available for your phone via Settings → Software update → Download & install. If you upgrade to firmware A065FXXU7CYJ8, test whether the freezes persist.
2. Submit a bug report via Samsung Members
Given that your issue appears to be shared (and was posted on the Samsung Members forum), using the “Support → Error reports” in the Samsung Members app could push it toward being prioritized. Include logs immediately after a freeze.
3. Monitor patch-level updates
Even after Android 16 / One UI 8, Samsung may issue hotfix patches (monthly or security-update-bundled fixes) that address stability issues. Keep an eye on whether new OTA updates arrive after the major version upgrade.
4. Temporary workaround
You already noticed fingerprint unlock disabled helps — that could hint at driver / sensor interaction bug.
If possible, avoid using the fingerprint unlock for now, or see if any settings around "bio-metrics / fingerprint" have options (e.g. disable “always-on fingerprint” or similar).
Monitor whether any 3rd-party apps / custom launchers interact badly with fingerprint sensor.
5. Factory reset (last resort)
If after upgrading to One UI 8 the freezes remain, and you have tried Safe Mode & cache wipes, a full factory reset might help (though it’s painful). But I’d try the update first.
---
Will One UI 8 / Android 16 Fix It?
My best-guess: Yes, possibly — there’s a good chance the One UI 8 update will fix or at least mitigate the freezing issue, because:
The issue seems widespread (many users complaining post-Android 15 / One UI 7).
Samsung has released Android 16 / One UI 8 for your model (A06), indicating that they’re still supporting that branch.
It’s common for major version updates to include bug-fixes for stability problems introduced in earlier major updates.
But: because there’s no confirmed changelog entry that explicitly says “fix touchscreen freeze on Galaxy A06 after update”, I cannot guarantee it will fully resolve your particular case.
