with GalaxySamsung is working on an AI-powered wallpaper system that is expected to work based on weather, time, and season.
The Korean tech giant recently achieved countable approval on a patent that reveals plans for the forthcoming wallpaper engine for Galaxy devices. A new report from 91mobiles revealed that Samsung is setting up to introduce an AI wallpaper system that changes the background based on the time and weather of the day; for instance, dawn, morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
According to the patent, the system can also detect whether and based on that change the background to sunny, foggy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy. Noticeably, Samsung will rely on generative AI, which will read the image and background to identify the areas where time & weather changes can be applicable, generate a modified image with the changes to the original, and apply the new background display.
It seems that all of the functionality will be done in the background, and the changes will be applied automatically whenever applicable. However, the feature is currently blowing in the patent phase, so it’s expected that Samsung could soon adopt this feature, probably in the coming One UI 7 update. For now, there’s no official word regarding the timeline when this feature will be released.
