One UI 7 update

India, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America... Should be getting One UI 7 for the S24 series & Z Fold/Flip6 between today and April 14, following Samsung's launch time frame. This is a tentative update so we update as and when we receive new info of releases.

No one but Samsung knows when which region is going to get the update at what time.

I dont really get why the same device models can't get simultaneous global releases like IOS...

I understand staggering the release for different models but come on now🤦🏿

The software is not the same for same device model across different regions. I think it works like this:

Samsung built a complete software and push it to some countries. Then, they modify the software by removing and adding feature then push it to some other countries.

Then they modify the software to remove or add features then push it to some countries.

Then comes the carrier.

Wonder why some countries like Vietnam, India or Israel have call recording feature whereas South Africa doesn't. Wonder why Samsung Internet have a news feed feature in India which show indian things whereas other countries don't. Wonder why Indonesia have a standalone app for Muslim people made by Samsung Indonesia called "Salaam" app, which is basically an app that shows the five times prayers and a built-in Quran with some other cool features. If you are Muslim or someone else reading this comment, download the app from app apkmirror.

Hence the term "release in batches". Other country(ies) get the software first followed by others. Wonder how other cool things are hidden behind our back which we don't know but others are enjoying.

Then comes good lock and good guardians.

These are just some of my opinions and little facts. There are challenges I think Samsung comes across which cause update delays:

1. The range of device models that need updated.

2. Since Samsung is serious about security, maintaining security for most devices that will not receive One UI update for the moment, in parallel rolling 1ui update for latest models.

3. Combining One UI (from Samsung) with Android (from Google), testing, discovery of new bugs and fixing those bugs. Unlike Apple who own it's own software not relying on a stranger operating system.

Hopefully One UI 7 will be worth it when we receive it.

The apps are separated from the software but not available in Galaxy store for download. So not only the software different. the Galaxy store is controlled. It's filtered. Just like play store some apps not available in your country. We don't know if the developer of the app put a geographic lock or is it Google or someone else region locke, speaking of Fine lock in my region, no longer available in my region.

I still feel like this is an awful way to release a massively anticipated software update, at the very least give an official date or estimate for each region you know
