It's ridiculous that I must reset my phone to factory settings to fix the fingerprint reader.

Please also run a service test on your Fingerprint sensor.

1. From the phone dialler, enter *#0*#.
2. Select Sensor
3. Scroll down
4. Under Fingerprint test, Select Normal scan.

If the issue persists, please perform a soft reset of your device.

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds.

*The device may take a screenshot, however, keep holding the buttons for a few more seconds. This is a soft reset and will not factory reset your phone.

Do you factory reset your phone every time when fingerprint reader stops working? I mean this adds more security to your phone like if someone force you to scan your fingerprint and your fingerprint reader doesn't work. For the PIN/password, you can say you forgot them.😅
