with GalaxyBefore the food was put in the pot, before it was cooked, here is what happened…
One UI 8 didn’t just appear overnight. I went to research about it and it was carefully built through close teamwork between Samsung and Google.
Members of the company such as, Mihyun Jeong (planning) said the goal was “multimodal AI, a form factor, optimized UX and a proactive personalized experience.”
Another member, Joonhwan Kim (design) called it “When foldables meet AI,” showing how design and AI had to merge naturally.
Nawoong Han, who worked with Google, shared that both teams even used a shared code branch to fix bugs in real time. “We spent so much time together that our teamwork became rock solid… we even asked about each other’s pets, our kids - which sound theylike, how they interact with AI, how elders interact with AI. All was tried to make it be easily usable” he said with a smile.
So what came out of the pot?
✨ AI everywhere — Gemini Live that understands what’s on your screen and can act instantly.
✨ Smarter multitasking — split view, floating windows, even screen sharing with AI in real time.
✨ Photo Assist upgrades — compare edits side by side, remove noise with Audio Eraser, even make pet profiles.
✨ Streamlined everyday use — better Quick Share, improved animations, and wallpapers that adjust the clock to fit your style.
✨ Stronger security — with Knox Vault and the new KEEP system guarding your AI features.
The result? AI features that feel personal, smoother multitasking, improved security with Knox KEEP, and little design touches like wallpapers that interact with your clock. As Jeong summed it up: “Through One UI, we will naturally connect users with AI to deliver more effective automation and personalization.”
This is the behind-the-scenes story of One UI 8 — cooked with patience, teamwork and a lot of AI magic🙏💯
