I did a small test. I did a picture with the macro camera and another one with the nomal camera zoomed in. Yes, the macro one is more zoomed in becasue the normal one cant focus that much. But when you take your image, you can just zoom in the gallerie and the one on the regualr camera has better colours and is more clear. Dont use macro. This might be the same on other models.

My phone does not show Macro Mode. (I don't see it) The third camera is for periscope.
But It has pro mode which can apply to macro when zoomed it and the quality of it is better.
So you are right actually.🙏 For both Midrange and Flagships, people can use pro mode to capture close zooms. It is sharper and has high MP's. That is another way to beat the system.

Macro mode shots are for extreme close up shots where you would want to shoot the details and textures of the subject and lighting is very important in this setting.
