A previously fully functional and undamaged Samsung Galaxy S22+ has experienced significant performance and usability degradation following the latest software update. The update has introduced the following issues:

1. Camera performance degradation: Image quality has noticeably worsened, with photos appearing less detailed, grainy, overly sharpened, less contrasted, and affected by excessive and unnatural glare.

2. Severe overheating: The device now heats up while idle and becomes uncomfortably hot, nearly painful to touch when using applications.

3. Loss of core functionality and poor UI changes: Practical Samsung features have been removed or altered in favor of an interface resembling Apple iOS. This includes an immovable navigation bar that causes discomfort during use, disappearing notifications that are no longer accessible, and redesigned icons that appear cartoonish and lack Samsung’s previously clean and consistent visual identity.

4. Removal of features: The gesture-based access to Google Assistant has been eliminated along side the lockscreen fade unlocking animation.

5. Reduced widget usefulness: Widgets now provide minimal information and prioritize bland, generic color schemes over functionality (e.g. Digital Wellbeing widget), further reflecting an unnecessary iOS-style design rather than Samsung’s original approach.

6. Decreased customization options: Good Lock functionality has been reduced, including fewer options for the task changer, among other removed customization features.

7. Poor quick-panel redesign choice : The battery percentage is now displayed inside the icon, making it unnecessarily difficult to quickly assess battery level. The drag down panel now has unnecessarily many icons in large proportions, defeating the purpose of the "quick" panel and further resembling Apple's iOS design.

8. Ineffective power-saving mode: Power-saving mode now consumes more battery due to the removal of options such as disabling 5G connectivity.

Overall, the update has negatively impacted performance, usability, and customization, diminishing the user experience of what was previously a well-functioning and favourable device. If I wanted a Apple phone, I would have bought it. Just wanted to let that out

Really feels like they are trying to take apples global market share by making the ui similar but all that's really seeming to do is annoy and somewhat discourage older samsung users who liked how things were.

Sure there were some improvements in ease of use but overall they have been demonstrating a habit of removing features that caused no issues or that a very small number of people used ie the native screen recorder, or in the case of the s25 removing most of the spen functionality.

The devs are trying to be someone they aren't and it's going to kill the brand
