Parts of my screen are not responsive to touch after installing the latest software update. Has anyone experienced similar and is there a way to fix it? It's almost impossible to use my phone like this.

See if a soft reset helps fix it: Press and hold on both volume down and power button (side key) until the phone restarts.
This is not the same as factory reset or hard reset where data is lost. Soft reset will not cause data loss.
