Samsung smartphones can now record VoWiFi calls

Galaxy smartphones running on OneUI 6.1 can record voice calls even in VoWiFi mode.

Recording a voice call on a Galaxy smartphone just got upgraded, where users can now record in VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi) mode. Right now, the feature is limited to the Galaxy S24 series, running on OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14 OS, and the same is likely to be made available for older smartphones in the coming days.

While it was possible to record audio calls on Galaxy smartphones, it only worked when VoWiFi was turned off or with the help of third-party apps like Truecaller. Unlike Google Dialer, Samsung does not announce that the call is being recorded and allows users to automatically record voice calls when enabled.

Call recording in VoWiFi mode is said to be available on Galaxy smartphones with the latest dialer app with version number 15.1.66 or newer. Not just VoWiFi calls, Galaxy smartphones can also record calls made over VoLTE (4G) and VoNR (5G) networks.

Samsung currently displays a pop-up saying ‘cannot record WiFi calls’ on phones running on OneUI 6 or older versions, and this feature is currently limited to just three smartphones. VoWiFi calling can be enabled from the quick setting panel, which allows users to make both audio and video calls via the Samsung dialer app.

Compared to regular voice calls, VoWiFi offers better audio quality, especially indoors, especially if cellular network coverage is patchy, and VoWiFi also ensures that the call does not get disconnected due to network issues

But by law call recording is not permitted in the UAE without first party consent. So I don't think this feature will be available here.

This option is not available in the Middle East version only in the USA. But maybe come in the next update
