Greetings. I'm planning to buy s24 ultra in Dubai, for primary use in Europe. Should I buy the international or Middle Eastern version? Also, I read about the regional lock. Does that mean I need to insert a local SIM first and use it in Dubai for a specific number of days? Because I'm buying it as a gift, I don't want to open the package, if not necessarily.
Please, kindly guide me

Greetings! If you're buying a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in Dubai for primary use in Europe, it's generally recommended to purchase the international version. This version usually comes unlocked, allowing you to use it with SIM cards from various carriers worldwide without any issues.

Regarding the regional lock, Samsung devices have a feature where if you insert a SIM card from a specific region (like the Middle East) and use it in the device for a certain period (usually about 5 minutes of voice calls), it will be regionally locked to that area. This means if you were to buy the Middle Eastern version and use it with a local SIM in Dubai, it might get locked to that region for a period of time.

To avoid this, if you're purchasing it as a gift and don't want to open the package, it's safer to go for the international version. This way, the recipient in Europe can use their European SIM card without worrying about any regional lock issues. Just make sure to check with the retailer to confirm that the international version is indeed unlocked.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding purchasing the Samsung S24 Ultra in Dubai. we appreciate the opportunity to provide you with clarification on the available versions and regional lock concerns.

In Dubai, we typically sell Gulf versions of Samsung devices. These versions are optimized for use within the Gulf region, including the UAE and surrounding countries. It's important to note that Gulf versions may come with specific features and settings tailored to this region.

Regarding the regional lock, it is indeed a consideration when purchasing devices in Dubai. To avoid any potential issues with regional lock activation, it's recommended to use a local SIM card and make a call with the device while in Dubai. This helps ensure that the device is properly activated and can be used with SIM cards from other regions thereafter.

Additionally, I'd like to highlight that the warranty provided with devices purchased in Dubai is typically local. This means that warranty coverage and support services are applicable within the UAE and may have limitations when used outside of this region.

we hope this information clarifies the situation and helps guide your purchasing decision. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.

How about S24 Ultra and 5G network? Regarding Middle East version of S22 Ultra - 5G network doesn't work everywhere in Europe - mostly connecting to 4G+.
