Dear team,

I'm using my new Samsung s24 ultra for last 3 weeks, and i found that its display is getting dimmed while I'm using in direct sunlight.

But at same time i used my backup phone which is S21,but it doesn't have any issue, it works with its full brightness.

I don't recommend to use any phone under direct sunlight during summer. Extreme heat can seriously damage the display and internal components.

Btw, I'm using S24 ultra. I haven't noticed this during outdoor use.
Usually I use dark mode.

Are you using screen protector? Because, light sensor is located under display somewhere below the front camera. Some screen protectors can interfere with light sensor.

You should have adaptive brightness turned on to get maximum brightness under direct sunlight. Also check if you have turned on any of below settings - turn them off

Have you tried restarting your phone? Maybe that should help clear some bugs. Ensure that the phone has been updated to the latest software

Do the functionality tests to see if everything is fine. And does this happen when you turn off the adaptive brightness? How does it work in an indoor environment... Does it adapt to your expectations?

It's unfortunate to hear about the display dimming issue you're experiencing with your new Samsung S24 Ultra, especially when compared to your backup phone, the S21, which doesn't seem to have the same issue. While it's normal for displays to adjust brightness to some extent in direct sunlight to improve visibility and reduce glare.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Ensure that the brightness setting on your S24 Ultra is set to maximum when using it outdoors.

2. Make sure that your S24 Ultra's software is up to date. Sometimes, software updates include fixes for display-related issues.

3. If the issue persists, you can try resetting the display settings to their default values. This can sometimes resolve software-related display issues.

By following these steps, you may be able to identify and resolve the issue with the display dimming on your Samsung S24 Ultra. If the problem persists, please send us an Error Report by following the steps below.

Head to the Members app > Get Help > Error Report > Tap 'OK' to send System Log Data > Select the symptom, and include as much detail as possible.
