Galaxy SHi, AlfaMello apologies for the inconvenience caused, third-party accessories, such as cases, fans, virtual reality headsets, or selfie sticks, could be causing your device to overheat due to the extra power drawn by the accessory or by retaining the heat your device gives off.
Do you have a third party accessory connected to your device?
Please Check the battery usage.
To check the battery usage:
1. From the home screen, swipe either up or down to access apps.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Battery and device care.
4. Select Battery.
5. Tap Usage since last full charge.
From here you can see what applications and processes are using the most power.
Is there a specific app (that you haven't had open) that is using more than 25% of your device's power?

Galaxy SI checked the battery usage since last full charge.
The app that consumed the most power was the Galaxy Store app at 1,2%, understandably because I was updating the phone's apps and features. Every other app that I often use, like Instagram, is 1,0% and below.
There is no specific app that is consuming more than 25% of the device's power. At least, the phone does not say that.

Galaxy SPress and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds.
Now that your device has been rebooted has it started to heat up yet?
