Hi. I bought a Samsung S21 Ultra 5G a few months ago. The issue is I keep on getting a "No sim detected" error. Now before you ask me to check for a faulty sim or reboot my phone... I have done all of that.

Steps I have taken:
1) Replaced sim card. Shop confirmed sim was damaged. Worked fine for 1 day and issue re-occured.
2) Went back to replace sim again. Shop confirmed sim was damaged when it did not work in another phone. Realised deep scratch marks on sim. Seems the S21 is damaging the sim!
3) Shop said they could send phone in but I would be without a phone for 7 days and with no replacement phone. I said thats unacceptable and asked about the e-sim option and they installed the e-sim which is still working but the phone still gives the "No sim detected error" if the sim tray is inserted like every 5 minutes and a pop up to your sim settings appears. Very annoying. If I take the sim tray out then the issue disappears. But it leaves my phone exposed to dust and moisture. Not good.
4) Did software update today so will monitor 24/07/2021. Android v11. One Ui v3.1

Conclusion: This is unacceptable. I paid for a flagship phone and I am very disappointed. The phone is great and all but in my honest opinion very overpriced even with the x100 zoom camera and all the bells and whistles. I did not even get a freakin' charger with because of the new bs "Environmental Policy" which Apple is also doing. Problem is my old Fast charger which worked on my Huawei P30 (Was very happy with this phone) does not fast charge as intended. So now you are forcing me to buy a freakin' ZAR700 charger (South Africa) for a defective model which damages sim cards. I would have gone with Huawei but because they don't support google products natively I switched to Samsung and I am disappointed. I also feel Huawei GUI is much better and performance wise it was better. Actually ran COD Mobile better than this new flagship realease.

I am very disappointed and all the forums Samsung Support keep on saying replace your sim! When are you fixing this issue!? This is a flagship phone dammit and its damaging sims and it still gives an error if a sim is not detected when you have a bloody esim! Disapointed.

Hi Tsogo_sam05,

Thats the problem. I don't have a backup phone and I can't afford to lose the data on my phone as I use it extensively for work.

I had the exact same problem with my S21 Ultra, absolutely pathetic service from Samsung. They could not get the spares to repair my phone and yet they didn't bother to inform me. My phone was then deemed to be unrepairable and approved to get a replacement. Yet again I was not informed by the customer service centre not Samsung themselves. We spend so much money on a so called flagship, yet it doesn't even last a year and to make things worse there is a don't care pathetic attitude from every single person I've dealt with. To this day I don't know when or if I'm going to get a new device and I've been told that if I don't report to the service centre when the new phone arrives I will not be allowed to transfer my files onto the new device. Shocking. Legit considering moving to another brand and convincing others to do so as well.

Same issue. Samsung does not care. Since 2012 we have bought $40,000 worth of samsung stuff including a refrigerator with a defective ice maker that has now frozen so bad that I had to disassemble it to get it out. It is a known issue yet they due nothing. Bought an S21 brand new, broke the screen, had the screen and frame replaced, exact same issue. Took it to a certified shop, they wanted $100 to fix the back. I said Bull I can get one for $12 so they refused to work on it. Dude they said it wasn't certified. I said it was and even had the paper saying it was. I bought it from a wholesaler and samsung said it was certified. I said screw it. Called Samsung to send it in, they said go to Tmobile. Tmobile said come back in two weeks

Two weeks later they said that they only worked on phones with Samsung care. Samsung said that wasnt true. I said screw it I want to send it in. I spent 3 hours on a **bleep** chat because they said that I could return out and get a deal on an S22 ultra with a watch. The deal was almost $700 and was the same deal that everyone else could get. I said no thanks. I called later and spent 2 hours on the phone. The guy said he could get me a phone and watch for $200 in a week at the start of the new sale. He said he would call me. He didn't. I called back and they said that there was no such deal and that none of the info that I stated was in the notes and I didn't have a case number. The guy had lied to me and covered his tracks. I was upset. I called 3 more times, and everytime they put me on hold and then it hung up. The first time I thought it was an accident, the seconf time I told the person I got hung up on and he put me on hold, and hung up again.

Finally I decided I had no choice, I need a top of the line phone for work so I bought a trade in deal online, somehow it ran my credit 7 times and never told me that. I had a pick up at a store 30 miles away and when I got there they said that had no order. I looked at my order and the pick up was now at the store closer to my house, and they didn't have the phone. How can a major company screw someone so bad? I complained through messages and emails. No response. SAMSUNG DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. I have a YouTube channel and I am about to tell the world. I paid $1,200 and then almost $400 for the new screen and I have a brick. So Aggravated, but they don't care. Since the Samsung Rugby, I have bought almost every series. Screw you is what I get for that. Don't buy A Samsung product until they start treating customers right!
