Home button on the S7 edge

I've been using the device for about 8 months and I've noticed that the gold tint on the home button has come off on the sides. I took it to the service centre and they told me they'll have to replace the display to fix and there won't be waterproofing anymore.

I really want this fixed but want the waterproofing too. What are my options?

if you have the warranty they should fix it for you properly or give you a new one

I think physical damages won't be claimed under the warrenty.. Finger scanner is working fine?
