Galaxy S
Hello everyone, I recently updated my S22 Ultra to the September 1st update. The update was approximately 2GB in size. Unfortunately, I have noticed that my edge lighting feature has stopped working, despite all the relevant settings being enabled. Could anyone kindly provide some guidance on how to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

It's frustrating when an update causes features like edge lighting to stop working, but there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Reboot Your Device
After major updates, certain features or settings might need a restart to reinitialize properly. Try turning your phone off and back on to see if the edge lighting returns.
2. Verify Edge Lighting Settings
Double-check your edge lighting settings to ensure everything is still enabled correctly:
Go to Settings > Notifications > Brief pop-up settings > Edge lighting style.
Ensure Show Edge Lighting is enabled and your preferred style, color, and duration are selected.
3. Check Do Not Disturb Mode
If Do Not Disturb mode is on, it may prevent edge lighting from showing up for notifications.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and make sure it’s disabled or properly configured.
4. Disable Battery Optimization for Relevant Apps
Sometimes, battery optimization settings can interfere with background processes like edge lighting:
Go to Settings > Apps > (select apps that use edge lighting like Messages or other notification-heavy apps) > Battery > Optimize battery usage.
Make sure edge lighting-related apps are excluded from optimization.
5. Clear Cache
Corrupted cache files after a major update can sometimes cause issues:
Clear cache for the affected app: Go to Settings > Apps > (app that should trigger edge lighting) > Storage > Clear cache.
You can also wipe the system cache:
1. Turn off the phone.
2. Hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears, then release the buttons.
3. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition and select it with the power button.
4. Once done, restart the device.
6. Check for Another Update
Occasionally, new updates introduce bugs, and Samsung may have released a hotfix after your update. Go to Settings > Software Update and check if there is another update available.
7. Safe Mode Testing
Boot your device into Safe Mode to see if a third-party app might be causing conflicts:
1. Press and hold the Power button until you see the Power Off option.
2. Tap and hold the Power Off option until you see Safe Mode.
3. Test if edge lighting works in Safe Mode. If it does, a third-party app could be the issue.
8. Reset All Settings (Last Resort)
If none of the above works, you can reset all settings (this will not delete your data, but will reset settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.):
Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset All Settings.
