Hi everyone
I need help with my s21. The camera app won't open it just shows (camera failed)
I've tried all tips and tricks to get the app working but nothing
I've tried force stopping the app, clear cashe then reboot
Tried safe mode also.
Not* the cameras work on other apps like YouTube and here in in members self test modes which make me believe its a broken app
The phone is on its latest update android 15 updated on 5 June 2026

Since the cameras are working normally in Samsung Members diagnostics and other apps, the camera hardware itself is unlikely to be the issue.
A few things I would still try:
• Clear the Camera app's data (not just cache) from Settings → Apps → Camera → Storage. • Wipe the system cache partition from Recovery Mode. • Check Galaxy Store for a Camera app update. • Verify that Camera Access is enabled under Privacy settings.
If the Camera app continues to show "Camera failed" after all of that, especially after the recent Android 15 update, it may be a software bug affecting the stock Camera app rather than a hardware fault.
Have you already tried clearing the Camera app's data and wiping the cache partition, or only force stop, clear cache, and Safe Mode?

This happened to me once,.Or you could try installing an older version of your current app. If that doesn't work, you might consider uninstalling the current version using the Universal Android Debloater (UAD); you can find tutorials for this on YouTube, though it does require a PC. Alternatively, you can use the Canta app with Shizuku.
