Galaxy SSamsung One UI 7.0 comes with personalization features for the home screen as well as some interesting customizations for the lock screen, which we’re going to explore here.
The lock screen is the first visual before we jump to the home screen, and it has continuously evolved over the past decade with useful elements. As for Samsung, the lock screen has remained an area of focus to provide a better user experience. Therefore, this One UI 7.0 guide will help you to make the lock screen that defines your style.
Wallpaper
Wallpapers are the base layer of on-screen visuals. Every software feature sits on top of the wallpaper, and you can choose your portrait from the gallery, any favorite image, choose stock wallpapers, use pre-installed images or even generate wallpapers using AI.
Note – Live wallpaper may increase battery consumption. Some of these pre-installed wallpapers don’t support extra customizations such as effects, and frames.
Confirm your wallpaper selection for the Lock screen, you can set the same for the home screen.
The next set of customizations are lined up below.
Clock style
One UI 7.0 has reshuffled the lock screen clock styles, and it now has two tabs – Font and color and Style.
- Font – You can select font style, change its strength, and select a clock text color. There’s an option to download custom fonts to further stylize the font look.
- Style – This section has different clock styles, most of these supports font customizations, except for the last two. The switches in the bottom let you show the weather or change clock placement.
Tip – You can increase or decrease the clock size with a white transformation anchors around the clock preview.
Widgets
Samsung phones can use widgets to provide brief information for some features such as battery, weather, health and more. As mentioned above, these are brief widgets, and you have to tune in for home screen widgets for a more expansive experience.
Shortcuts
Lock screen shortcuts can help you launch a feature or app. Placed on the bottom side, these shortcuts support customizations. Tap on any of these shortcuts to open a selection card. All you need to do is to tap and final the selection.
Note – You can’t choose the same action for both shortcut buttons.
Frame
Try frames if you want to make more fancy changes. It makes a cutout to reflect the lock screen wallpaper and the rest of the area will be filled with solid color, which you can customize.
Effects
One UI 7.0 gives users the freedom to add visual effects for lock screen wallpapers. Here you can apply blur, grayscale, color overlay or darken the appearance. The last two effects have a color picker tool to personalize the overlay.
Conclusion
These options help you create a welcoming lock screen for your One UI 7.0 device, try these to make your own version.
