It git me thinking the samsang galaxy A16 wil get 6 years of software updates .So why can't they make the samsang galaxy A25 5G eligible to

You might think that because it's faster but the reason is It was released in 2023 before their update policy was 6 years.

But can't they change it or is it a permanent thing in the phone or something like that?

Even for flagships, the S23 is stuck at 4 years while the S24 got 7 because hardware support is a contract. Samsung needs long-term driver agreements from chipmakers like Qualcomm or Exynos to build updates. The A25 uses an Exynos 1280 that was only contracted for the amount of years promised when the A25 was released.
They won't spend millions to extend an agreement when they have newer phones with longer support agreements.

What happens if Samsung is no longer updating does it means that phone will never work as it was or it just works the way

Not quite sure it will still work for a while but u don't get the new features the other phones do if they keep updating

The A25 will not really be usable after 6 years. So it's logical that it will only get four years of updates, after that point your battery is going to be finished anyway
