The ONE UI8 doesn't have the option to immediately lock the secure folder when you exit the folder. 😡 now i have to wait minutes or turn my screen off or lock it manually.

Did it ever happened to you that when you exit the folder, you thought it locked but it did not locked when you open it again?

You’re absolutely right — many users report that with One UI 8 the “lock on exit” / “each time I leave an app” option for Secure Folder has been removed.

Here’s what I found + what you can try:

---

What I found

TechIssuesToday reports that One UI 8 “ditched Secure Folder’s lock-on-exit feature.”

Users in Samsung community forums have also noticed that Secure Folder “doesn’t auto-lock on exit” under Android 16 / One UI 8.

SammyGuru notes that the “Each time I leave an app” option has been removed and people are asking Samsung to restore it.

On Reddit people have posted complaints:

> “You have to manually lock it when you leave now … that was one of the things people asked for in the last Beta.”

So yes — it's very likely that on your Galaxy A35 with One UI 8 you no longer have that immediate “lock on exit/app leave” option.

🔧 What You Can Try

Since the option has been removed, you might not be able to restore it, but here are a few workarounds or alternatives:

1. Check Auto-Lock Settings
Go to Settings → Biometrics & Security → Secure Folder → Settings / Lock / Auto-lock.
See what options remain (e.g. “when screen turns off”, “after X minutes”, “on restart”). The “each time leave app” is likely gone.

2. Manual Lock & Exit
Within Secure Folder, open the menu (three dots) and tap “Lock & Exit” when you’re done. This is a workaround, though inconvenient.

3. Lock the Screen / Turn Off Display
Because Secure Folder locks when the screen locks / display off (depending on your setting), turning off the screen or hitting the lock button right after you’re done is a quick way to force it.

4. Send Feedback to Samsung
Since multiple users are complaining, you could submit feedback via the Samsung Members app to ask for re-adding that feature in a future update.

5. Check for Software Updates
It’s possible Samsung may restore the feature in a minor update if enough users complain. Make sure your phone is fully up-to-date.

6. Use Alternative Apps
If security is critical and waiting is not acceptable, you could consider using a third-party app locker or vault, but take care since Secure Folder ties into Knox and is more secure than many third-party solutions.

Please Report this under Error Reports and ask them to change the Secure Folder locking back to how it was. I did report and ask them. I we do not ask them they think we are happy with the change
