Hi there, so I use a Galaxy A72 and recently got it wet in the sea and now it doesn't fast charge anymore and getting it to charge at all was a mission. It charges fine now, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean the charging port out to get rid of the salty-type residue that may have built up in it. Do I use alcohol?

Clean the debris with a wooden tooth pick; just be careful as this area is delicate, stand in the sun to see all the parts in the port, and you will be surprised by the dirt that comes out. You can also spray the alcohol on the toothpick instead of spraying it directly on the port and then set a hair drier on low heat to blow it dry afterwards

Thanks man. I've done all of that though and it still displays that there is debris in the port even though its flawless, hence why I think it's salt residue. I'll try the alcohol thing again just in case.

Prestik also helps to get out some of the gunk, nake sure it is new prestik,it lifts out the sand grains and other nasty dirt. Also try buying another original samsung cable, the port with the dirt might have bend some of the contacts on the cable thus causing a slow charge hence a poor connection. Samsung original cables is the best thing to use,as it has the fastest charging technology. Second best is a cable made by snug, sells for under R300 at vodacom or incredible connection and it's 2m long!
