Galaxy A24 in South Africa receives One UI 6.1

The Galaxy A24 in South Africa officially receives the One UI 6.1 update. On the 25th of June 2024.

Is your Galaxy A24 carrier locked. ( Was it purchased from Vodacom or MTN etc.)

I got mine from cell c

You will have to wait some time as the Software is first sent to Cell C and then distributed by them to their carrier locked devices.

my brother's a34 got his when everyone else got theirs and he's also on cell c, how long does it normally take to get distributed?

About a week after the factory unlocked phones. Also depends on how long it takes Cell C to send the Software to your Galaxy A24.

You have brought your brother's Galaxy A34 to my attention. The Galaxy A34 is a more costly phone than the Galaxy A24, so the updates go in some sort of a ladder. Which means the Galaxy A54 will get the update first, then the Galaxy A34, then the Galaxy A24. (From most expensive to cheapest. Cheapest being the Galaxy A04e.)

You might have noticed also that the Galaxy A14 has gotten One UI 6.1 before the Galaxy A24. It is because it uses One UI Core which is like the lite version of One UI.
