That's why, make sure you replaced with an original screen that supports Underdisplay fingerprint then take it Samsung to calibrate the sensor.

Hi
If your Galaxy A33 says “Fingerprint registration failed — contact customer service”, that usually means the fingerprint sensor isn’t being recognized properly, but it can often be fixed without a repair. Let’s go through it step-by-step 👇

---

🔹 Step 1: Basic Checks

1. Clean the sensor – Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the fingerprint area.

2. Clean your finger – Make sure it’s dry and not oily or wet.

3. Remove screen protector (temporarily) – Some thick or non-Samsung protectors interfere with fingerprint registration.

---

🔹 Step 2: Software Reset of the Sensor

1. Go to Settings → Biometrics and security → Fingerprints.

2. Delete all saved fingerprints.

3. Restart your phone.

4. Try registering again in a well-lit room and ensure you’re pressing the entire thumb area.

---

🔹 Step 3: Safe Mode Test

This helps see if a third-party app is interfering:

1. Press and hold the Power button → Tap and hold "Power off" → Choose Safe Mode.

2. Once in Safe Mode, try to register your fingerprint again.

If it works here, an app is causing the issue. Restart normally, then uninstall recent or suspicious apps.

---

🔹 Step 4: Software Update or Cache Reset

1. Go to Settings → Software update → Download and install.

Sometimes fingerprint issues are fixed in patches.

2. If it’s still stuck:

Boot into Recovery mode:

Turn off the phone.

Hold Volume Up + Power until you see the Samsung logo.

Use volume keys to select Wipe cache partition, then press Power to confirm.

After that, select Repair apps (if available).

---

🔹 Step 5: Last Resort

If none of the above works, it could be a hardware fault in the fingerprint sensor.

Visit a Samsung Service Centre.

If your phone is still under warranty, they’ll repair/replace the sensor free of charge.
