Space Zoom
Space Zoom is an AI Zoom technology that reconstructs high-resolution images from low-resolution images, and has been applied to overcome the limitations of traditional digital zoom.
For this purpose, the AI super-resolution neural network was trained with images of various patterns, and it was combined with a multi-frame processing algorithm to form an optimal pipeline.
Below are comparison images taken with 9x zoom on Galaxy S24 Ultra by applying traditional digital zoom and AI Zoom technologies, respectively.
As shown in the image on the right, AI Zoom technology greatly improves the quality and clarity of images by expressing more details while reducing noise compared to digital zoom.

[Spatio-Temporal Video Zoom]
We provide a spatial zoom experience to take clear pictures of distant objects, and a temporal zoom experience to view recorded videos in detail.
Spatio video zoom technology signifies Space Zoom. Usually, people zoom-in on a space to record distant subjects. The high-megapixel sensor Remosaic Crop provides 2x or 10x digital zoom to provide a fine zoom quality based on 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x QuadTele, and in particular, in Video, it can record high-quality movies at any magnification by applying Video Super Resolution technology at more than 1x magnification.

2. Temporal Zoom
When we watch a video, we're not looking at the actual movement, we're looking at the sequential frames "one by one." To take a closer look between each frame of the recorded video, we provide a temporal zoom experience.
Let's zoom in on the time between the two frames, shall we?

The AI generates the intermediate motion between two frames in real-time, making the action more cohesive.
If you play them one by one consecutively like this, your video will look more "soft" and "slow".
By applying these technologies to your gallery and video player, you can instantly watch a slow video by pressing and holding the screen in the section that you want to see in detail because you found it impressive. We call this "Instant Slow-mo".
2-1) Appreciating Instant Slow Motion
If you press and hold the screen in the Gallery or Video Player app, you can continue watching at 1/4th of the original video speed, and by taking your finger off the screen, you can continue watching it at the original speed.

2-2) Editing Instant Slow Motion
If you tap the edit icon to launch the editor immediately after watching the instant slow motion, you can load the just-viewed section and edit it.
Path: Edit after viewing instant slow motion → select the speed control on the displayed notification → Select 1/4x speed
* AI is not applied in the preview in Editor, but when saving, the AI will generate intermediate motion and save it as a smooth slow-motion video.

2-3) Sharing Instant Slow Motion (to be updated later)
If you press the share button immediately after watching, you will be provided with a menu that allows you to select only the slow-motion section that you just watched from the share list, and if you select the menu, you can share just the slow-motion section through social media apps, etc.
