For the 2024 Ultra owners, Samsung is expected to deliver the stable One UI 8 update later in 2025, after beta testing ends

In summary: If you have the original Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024), you’re likely to receive the full stable OS update sometime in the second half of 2025.

Samsung has officially confirmed these models are eligible for One UI 8 Watch (Wear OS 6), and the beta program is now opening to Watch 6 / 6 Classic owners .

Test firmware for Watch 6 Classic (build R960XXU1CYF6) is already in testing as of June–July 2025 .

At the moment, only security patch updates (May 2025 patch via builds R940… and R960…) are rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 6 series .

Early access (beta) for Galaxy Watch 6 / 6 Classic is opening mid‑July 2025, with the full stable release expected later this year, likely late Q3 or Q4 2025.

Step 1: Prepare your devices

Ensure both your Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and paired Galaxy phone have the latest Samsung Members and Galaxy Wearable apps installed.

Sign in with the same Samsung Account across both devices.

Step 2: Look for the Beta banner

Open the Samsung Members app on your phone.

If eligible, you’ll see a bold “One UI 8 Watch Beta Program” banner or a Beta Card on the home tab or under Notices .

Step 3: Enroll in the program

Tap the banner or card, agree to the terms, and submit your registration.

You'll see a confirmation of enrollment if accepted.

Step 4: Install the beta firmware

Go to Settings → Software update → Download and install on your watch via the Galaxy Wearable app.

Watch for a new OTA build—sometimes rolled out gradually.

Step 5: Provide feedback

Use Samsung Members → Participated Beta test to report bugs or share suggestions during the beta period .
