Fingerprint sensor stopped working on Flip5 after software update

The fingerprint sensor of my Flip5 suddenly stopped working after the last update i did on the 1st of March.
I tried ti troubleshoot by restarting the device and using the diagnostic check from the Settings but nothing is working. 
I will be visiting the branch soon but i wanted to know if anyone else faced/is facing the same issue and if they got it fixed.

The fingerprint recognition performance of your phone can be affected by various factors. If you're experiencing issues, please check the following:

Condition of your phone's screen protector: Make sure it is not interfering with the fingerprint scanner.
Wireless Charging: Ensure that the phone is not wirelessly charging, as this can affect fingerprint recognition.
Try removing and re-registering your fingerprint.

The fingerprint is from the side (Flip Z phone) therefore the screen protector doesn't interfere.
I don't use a wirless charger, just wired, since day one.
I tried to remove the current fingerprints but it seems that there is an issue with the sensor itself.1741579515501.jpg
